How to make Bhastrika pranayam for migraine pain, paralysis, Parkinson's disease, neurological disorders, weak memory and other neurological problems.
The word "Bhastrika Pranayama" comes from the Sanskrit word Bhastrika, which basically means to breathe like a bellows (). Bellows is a device to produce a strong current of air that was used to fan the fire in the old days. In Bhastrika Pranayama, our lungs move with movements that are very similar to the bellows. Therefore, the Bhastrika Pranayama is called the "bellows breath". Bhastrika (bellow breathing) is a powerful and energetic Pranayama in yoga breathing exercises. In the ancient yogis they called this breathing exercise "the breath of fire yoga." If you did Kapalbhati Pranayama, in this the importance is only in the expiration that is forced, short and fast. In Kapalbhati Pranayama, inhalation is passive and natural. During the exhalation we also force the belly towards our spine in an energetic movement.
While in Bhastrika Pranayama, inhalation and exhalation are forced. The movement of the belly along with each breath is an optional variation. So Bhastrika Pranayama tries to inhale and exhale completely so that our body gets enough oxygen.
