There are a lot of tinnitus re: cure diabetes. Valter Longo at USC Davis is one of the world's leading biochemists / geneticists focused on gerontology or longevity. It has shown a sprouting mediated by stem cell beta cells in the pancreas in mice. Mice were cured of their diabetes. Can we do that with men too?
Other articles from Longo are reviewed demonstrating the improvement of multiple metabolic indicators, mainly driven by glucose metabolism pathways, including MTOR, AMPK, ILG-1.
A final academic article demonstrates the probable mechanism. Caloric restriction or fasting clearly increases the transcription of genes encoding these proteins. P53 and FOXO appear to be acting agents in this transcription enhancement – or upregulation. In the end, all this makes sense. Episodes of caloric restriction cause our bodies to transcribe more of the genes involved in energy metabolism. It makes sense later.
