Take a look at today's video on how the ketogenic diet can help with diabetes, especially those who suffer from type 1 diabetes.
For more detailed information, I encourage you to consult Dr. Perlmutter's interview with Dr. Runyan, a doctor who has type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Runyan completed an Ironman remote triathlon in 2012, without hypoglycaemia or the need for sugar or food due to the adaptation of the fat provided by the ketogenic diet. Now he is an advocate of the use of the ketogenic diet for the treatment of diabetes and is co-author of the book, The Ketogenic Diet for Type 1 Diabetes, which explains its use and benefits for type 1 diabetes.
