Video # 2 on a weight loss with hypothyroidism video series. This video depicts a real hypothyroid patient from my practice who lost 40 pounds for 6 months with before / after photos. You will immediately notice your changes in the image above and I will guide you in detail how YOU can get these types of changes as well.
Hypothyroidism patients almost always have difficulty with weight loss due to a variety of reasons. Most patients mistakenly believe that their weight loss problem is mainly due to lack of thyroid hormone and that is where they are wrong.
Low thyroid hormone itself causes a slow metabolism, but also causes and stimulates other hormonal imbalances. Specifically, it leads to insulin resistance, leptin resistance and even estrogen / progesterone imbalances.
It is these changes that make weight loss impossible in the future.
So it means focusing on the thyroid hormone alone will usually not lead to significant weight loss. Even adding NDT or T3 to your regimen will likely result in 5-10 pounds of weight loss at most.
Compare that to focus on the imbalances of other hormones and you can see the advantage in this earlier case study.
I show you exactly how to try the following hormonal imbalances:
1. Adrenal related problems (control of cortisol levels)
2. Resistance to thyroid (by checking free T3 and inverse T3)
3. Under testosterone (testing free and total testosterone)
4. Domain of estrogens (checking oestradiol + progesterone)
5. Checking leptin resistance (by controlling serum leptin levels in the fasted state)
6. Testing of insulin resistance (by control of fasting insulin and Hgb A1c)
I also reviewed the treatment for each of these conditions and showed how the patient above was able to obtain these results.
This particular patient has Hashimoto's thyroiditis, but this will also work for patients who have hypothyroidism.
In addition I go on how to properly choose the right diet to allow weight loss in this patient population.
