Prevention of diabetes:
It has been shown that simple lifestyle measures are effective in preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes. To help prevent type 2 diabetes and its complications, people should:
• achieve and maintain a healthy body weight;
• stay physically active: at least 30 minutes of regular activity of moderate intensity on most days. More activity is required to control weight;
• eat a healthy diet, avoiding the consumption of sugar and saturated fats; Y
• Avoid tobacco use: smoking increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
