EXERCISE FOR DIABETES – Diabetes and exercises as a remedy

The most common types of diabetes have been classified as Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 diabetes, known as adolescent diabetes, also differs from Type 2 because the physical body stops producing insulin completely. Type 2 diabetes is usually diagnosed in older adults and occurs when your body stops producing enough insulin or the person becomes resistant to their own insulin.

With any type of diabetes, we lose our ability to use sugar. Increased blood sugar due to the body's difficulty in transporting sugar to the cells and out of the bloodstream. There are several methods to reduce blood sugar, including exercise, diet and medications.

Exercise is an essential part of diabetes control for type 1 and type 2 diabetics. For type 1 diabetics, regular exercise helps maintain insulin sensitivity, helps prevent unwanted weight gain and increases the use of glucose by the muscles, which reduces blood sugar levels. Since there is currently no way to prevent type 1 diabetes, it is possible to avoid type 2 diabetes.

The points to consider when you want to avoid the onset of type 2 diabetes are regular exercise, supplementation with herbs and vitamins that help prevent insulin resistance and proper weight control.

Exercise not only helps directly in the management of diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels and maintaining insulin sensitivity, but also helps to minimize many of the complications that can arise in a diabetic person. Studies have shown that walking 30 minutes per day can substantially reduce the chance of developing type 2 diabetes.

Diabetics have a tendency to develop circulatory problems and exercise will decrease the pressure of blood circulation and improve circulation throughout the body. Since people with diabetes generally have poor blood circulation with the lower part of the feet and extremities, better circulation is of great benefit.

There are several risks related to the exercise; however, the potential benefits outweigh the risks to a large extent. Because exercise lowers blood sugar levels, people who have diabetes should measure their blood sugar before and after exercise. As your body uses more sugar, while making it more sensitive to insulin and exercising, there is a possibility that blood sugar causes too much hypoglycemia.

Taking care of your feet
Ulcers or other injuries to the feet are a serious danger for people with diabetes. It is important to avoid damage to the feet, especially in middle-aged and elderly people.

Always inspect your feet before and after exercise.
Avoid exercises that cause stress on the toes (for example, running). The exercise that represents a minimum weight or stress on the feet is ideal, like riding a bicycle or brisk walking with good shoes. Wear comfortable shoes that fit well.

When exercising, it is necessary for others to understand that you are diabetic. They should be informed how to proceed in case of hypoglycemia. It is best to bring fruit or caramel juice to take care of the low blood sugar level, whenever they occur. After and during exercise sessions, you should absorb how you feel, as your rapid pulse, increased sweating, trembling sensation or hunger may indicate that your blood sugar level has dropped too low.

Exercise is a crucial part of the treatment and management of diabetes. Exercise helps control blood sugar when muscles use more glucose and the physical body is more sensitive to insulin. Exercise also helps prevent and minimize common diabetic complications, such as heart disease, high blood circulation and pressure deficits. All diabetics will include a regular training program within their general management plan.
