In this video, Dr. Berg talks about fasting, BDNF or neurotrophic factor derived from the brain and hippocampus. Fasting increases something called neuroplasticity, which puts the nerves in communication. It is healthy for the brain to have communication with the brain cells and fasting has the ability to cause the cells to start communicating again.
Signs of decline in BDNF
• Increase inflammation
• Increase LDL
• worsening MS (an autoimmune disorder)
Benefits of fasting:
1. It has the ability to make your cells begin to communicate again.
2. Increases neurogenesis (the manufacture of new neurons).
