Sodas and sugary drinks are an unfortunate staple in the American diet. Over the past 30 years, our consumption of sugary drinks has gone from having a pop as an occasional treat to make sugar-sweetened beverages a part of our daily lives. It is a dangerous habit with critical health consequences.
We all know that drinking a bottle of soda is not like having a bottle of natural spring water. But most people do not know that solid science shows that sugary drinks are to blame for diseases ranging from preventable diabetes and obesity to cardiovascular disease and tooth decay.
