I want to take a minute and explain what I mean when I say that I do my treatments. It's called Artificial Pancreas Treatment. Basically what it does is address the central problem that diabetics have of not being able to metabolize properly. Although I am still diabetic and still need insulin every day, this solves all the other problems that type 1 diabetes brings. My father developed the current protocols we use and he manufactures the device that infuses insulin through a small intravenous line in my arm. What it means to me is that I do not have the changes with my blood sugar levels very often, I do not spill ketones and I do not crash. Also, all the initial signs of complications that I had disappeared completely. I have had health pregnancies and I have no complications. My blood test is basically perfect.
