Some fear that the use of intermittent fasting will decrease their basal metabolism. Research shows that this is false. I share the program that worked best for me and allowed me to stop taking medications for my autoimmune disease. Mainly, using the 16: 8 intermittent fasting protocol, I have lost more than 32 lb and I have found that I have slept and my stress levels have gone down. The body instinctively tries to maintain a state of homeostasis. However, when we are eating six or more meals a day, the body has little time to heal. Extending the fasting window allows the body to use its glycogen stores and convert them into fat for energy. This allows the body to detoxify and use body fat with amazing results.
