Foods to control diabetes naturally. Choosing the right foods is essential to control and reverse diabetes. Everyone agrees that foods with low glycemic index are better for lowering blood sugar, but there is much confusion about what a truly low glycemic food means.
If you want to lower your blood sugar as quickly as possible, you should choose foods with the lowest glycemic index possible. Official guidelines promote foods that are only slightly better than the worst absolute foods. In most cases, that is not enough to reverse or delay diabetes, and may even promote diabetes in someone who is already resistant to insulin.
If you perform a search for low glycemic index foods, you will be instructed to consume many foods with a glycemic index below 55. The problem is that these foods still have a very, very high glycemic index. Foods below 20 are low glycemic index. Foods between 50 and 55 still have an almost astronomical index compared to the best foods.
In this video, Dr. Ekberg explains which foods are really low glycemic and that will actually reduce insulin resistance.
