Vertical production of food indoors is changing the education, nutrition and lives of people in difficult remote environments. Dr. Miyoung Suh is an associate professor in the Department of Food and Human Nutrition Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and is trained as a clinical dietitian in the areas of gastroenterology, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. She is also a principal investigator in the Division of Neurodegenerative Disorders (DND) and the Canadian Center for Agrifood Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM), St. Boniface Research Center Albrechtsen Hospital. She was the first woman to be named Scientist of the Year in 2017 by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) for her research on lipid and retinal photoreceptors. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but organized independently by a local community. Learn more at
