On January 30, 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) organized a webinar entitled "Diabetes Measurements eCQM Eligible Clinic." This one-hour session provided an in-depth review of the electronic clinical quality measures of Diabetes (eCQMs) that included: hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) poor control (more than 9%) (CMS122), eye examination (CMS131) and medical care for nephropathy (CMS134). CMS has changed the logic used in the eCQM of the logical expression language of the quality data model (QDM) prior to the Clinical Quality Language (CQL) for the 2019 performance year. This session provided an introduction to the main measures of Diabetes informed and addressed the changes in the terminology and the set of values for the year of performance of Quality of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) 2019. As a result of the comments received from interested parties interviewed through the eCQM Project CMS Strategy to reduce the burden of implementation and reporting, this session aimed to prepare eligible physicians, providers, quality and health information technology personnel for the eCQM report, and was the third in a series of five educational sessions to provide relevant information to support the successful understanding, interpretation and implementation of e eQQM.
