Take Dr. Berg's advanced assessment exam:

Your report will be sent by email analyzing 104 possible symptoms, which will give you a much deeper insight into your bodily problems. It's free and very enlightening.

Dr. Berg talks about type 1 diabetes. Insulin controls potassium in the cell. If you have less insulin than in type 1 diabetes, you can get potassium back up in the blood, creating too much and not enough inside the cell. It is a rare situation, but you must know if you are type 1 diabetic.

The symptoms of low levels of potassium in the blood and high levels of potassium in the blood are similar. But you also realize that what happens in the blood does not tell you what is happening INSIDE the cell. If you are type 1 diabetic, it may be beneficial to obtain a blood potassium level test and an intracellular potassium test.
