Here you will see the biggest diabetes breakfast errors that you are probably committing and that you do not know you were doing. Do not make these breakfast mistakes to keep your blood sugar level stable.
1. PROTEIN OF JUMPING.
When you eat carbohydrates alone, they are digested quickly causing spikes in your blood sugar levels. When combined with a protein, they bind and take more time to digest and burn.
If you have a bowl of cereal and toast, eat an egg with it.
Eat fruit with yogurt.
Have pancakes with sausage.
If you're in a hurry, just add peanut butter to your toast!
2. SMOOTHIES IN THE MARCH.
The shakes make you feel great! Undoubtedly, a good smoothie makes you hurry to get going, but it turns out that it is mostly an avalanche of sugar.
Add a tablespoon of protein powder to slow down the burn.
Drink a smoothie and nibble a hard-boiled egg.
Skip the smoothie and have a bowl of oatmeal with bacon!
3. DO NOT EAT BREAKFAST.
You may have been well without breakfast before diabetes, but after you are diagnosed, you may not have it anymore. People who skip breakfast actually have higher blood sugar levels during the day.
Take a granola bar with high protein content and a glass of milk.
Take cheese and cookies.
Eat yogurt and granola.
Hardboiled eggs will travel almost everywhere.
Even a ham and cheese sandwich will do!
4. GREASE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER.
Fat-free is often higher in calories. Second, fat helps decrease the burning of carbohydrates as well as proteins. If you choose without fat, eat it in moderation and include some healthy fats in your diet each week.
Limit yourself to low-fat items like; low-fat cheese, low-fat yogurt and low-fat ice cream.
Take a few strips of bacon once or twice a week.
Use regular butter on your toast instead of margarine.
5. EARLY MORNING INDULGENCE.
It's Easter and you've been invited to a breakfast buffet. You enter the dining room and it is full of goodies. There is a fruit station, make your own waffles, a carving station and a lot of pastries. You are attracted by the attractive ice sculptures and a beautiful decoration. You eat until you can barely walk. This is not good for your blood sugar levels.
Try to avoid the pastry station.
Make healthy choices of foods you normally eat at breakfast, such as oatmeal, eggs and bacon.
Allow yourself a dessert for dessert.
Make sure you include your protein.
Remember to consult your doctor before doing any type of experimentation.
This is a slow process that will show the results after a time has passed and you have maintained consistency.
