Health tips for blood sugar:
🌿 4 best carbohydrates to lower blood sugar
I know that these days, people are really pushing the "low carb" or "no carbohydrate" or "ketogenic" diets, etc. People think that carbohydrates are bad and they are not healthy … they make you fat, bad for your brain and so on.
This is complete nonsense.
As with any type of food, what can be good or bad is the CLASS of carbohydrates, fats and proteins you consume.
With regard to carbohydrates, some are good and others are bad for health, especially blood sugar and this is based on two main points.
Both affect the way your body reacts to the carbohydrates you eat and, therefore, the amount of sugar in your blood and insulin levels.
I will give you the details about both in a future video.
However, today I will give you some really good carbohydrates that are healthy for you and your blood sugar levels, based on having a lower glycemic index and a glycemic load.
This means lower spikes in blood sugar, more energy, less fatigue and perfect for losing weight.
The best carbohydrates to promote health blood sugar levels
Today I will reveal the 4 best sources of carbohydrates
I suggest you eat as many vegetables and veggies as you want. Ideally, you should eat these FIRST, then the proteins and fats, and finally the regular carbohydrates.
Vegetables are great because they have very little sugar, total carbohydrates and calories. They are also high in fiber. All this means lower levels of sugar in the blood.
Just do not cook them in oils, or pour dressing and grease everywhere. The best is steamed or raw and add salt and pepper for flavor
Legumes And Beans
Beans are a starchy and complex form of a carbohydrate, similar to rice, bread, etc. However, they are very high in fiber and protein and, therefore, low in glycemic index and load, despite being high in carbohydrates.
Black beans and lentils are my favorites.
There is no sugar, so that is another great benefit. And it is slow to digest, so it will keep you full longer.
Just keep in mind that it is densely caloric, so monitor the size of your portion.
Finally, it is better to cook them in a pressure cooker. Reduce lectins, inflammation and gas.
Melons and berries
Melons are very high in water content, so they tend to be lower in calories. And the berries have less carbohydrates, sugars, calories and high healthy fiber content.
So, about one cup of these fruits have only about 15 grams or less of carbohydrates, that is, only 60 calories or less.
They have a large amount of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
In addition, some berries, such as raspberries, have a substance called "ellagic acid," which helps reverse certain aspects of diabetes.
Finally, one of my favorite carbohydrates is yam and sweet potato, which are very similar. It is the healthiest of all the potatoes.
They have a slightly higher glycemic index and load the foods mentioned above, but they are sweet tasting, which will satisfy the occasional sweet tooth you may have.
They also have many health benefits, vitamins, minerals and fiber.
What about oats and whole grains?
Now, you will notice that I did not mention oats or "whole grains". This is because they are inflammatory and oats tend to be an allergen for many people. I have also noticed that they increase the stress hormone, cortisol.
Therefore, why did not I mention them and other carbohydrates?
You can have them, but limit them.
